Ref: Page Gate 4.0
We have been using PageGate for a couple years and recently made a change in the way we are delivering the SMTP message to the PageGate server. The recipients are workers carrying alpha pagers and are now getting "garbage" for the body of the message, although the subject line is fine. The carrier for the alpha pagers is actually our own system on the roof that transmits to pagers on our premises.
We recognize that we have changed the delivery of the message and as a result have slightly changed the SMTP message construction. Under the new method, the message is generated on a SQL Server and it is relaying it to our Exchange 2007 server. Exchange has a Send-To connector that sends the message to the PageGate Server using SMTP.
The message is delivered to the correct pager, however, the body of the message is garbage. Any ideas of where to look? Messages that originate on the same SQL Server are being succesfully sent to other SMS devices and email systems.

Subject: 421-424 Down

Hmm... I'd like to have a look at the log files for PageGate. It should give me an idea as to whether that's being passed to PageGate as is or if PageGate is misinterpreting the data on the outbound side. So, if you would, please send all of the .log files from your c:\program files\pagegate\ directory to support at notepage dot com |

I am sending the requested log files now. In the PageGate.log file, look for the sender named WoTicket@no-reply.com for examples of the malformed message.

It may also be helpful if you can send a copy of one of the messages that was sent TO the getMAIL module to allow SUPPORT to compare DATA IN to DATA OUT_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

Just as an update for the forum thread, this problem was fixed by updating PageGate. |
