We do a lot of alpha paging to Sprint / NEXTEL devices using SNPP. Due to major spam problems, Sprint is closing their old SNPP gateways and adding security to the new ones. The old Sprint gateways (which were wide open with no authentication) will go dead permanently this Friday. This week they’re turning them off from noon to 8 PM CDT. We send about 500 pages per day to Sprint, so it hit us hard.
We haven’t yet been successful in sending pages from TriTech’s CAD to Sprint’s new gateways using SNPP, but we have succeeded with WCTP.
If you send SNPP or WCTP pages to Sprint, the information below may be of value.
“We are replacing our external facing SNPP/WCTP gateways this year with a single gateway that will serve both our CDMA and iDEN networks. As a result the CDMA gateway will be decommissioned and will refuse all traffic as of April 30, 2010. The iDEN gateway will be decommissioned later this year, but the date has not yet been finalized. Access to the new gateway will require account authentication, so customers must contact Sprint to request account credentials and gateway address.”

Under CARRIER - ADVANCED
Sprint/NeTel uses a slightly different methodology for processing login so place your assigned USERNAME and PW seperated by a space in the AUTHORIZATION field_________________ Aaron D. Osgood
