What version of Windows (and language) is installed on the working system?

On the system where this isn't working:

1) Make a backup of the pagegate.mdb file (typically located in c:\pagegatedata\database\). This is the single most important thing you can do before you update.

2) Stop PageGate. Make sure that none of the services or programs are running. Make ABSOLUTELY SURE that nothing in regards to PageGate is running.

3) Uninstall PageGate.

4) When prompted whether to do the program or the full uninstall, select the Full uninstall.

4a) When prompted as to whether or not to remove the shared files, say yes to each item but do NOT say Yes to All.

5) Download the latest installation file for PageGate from our website: http://www.notepage.net (click on the download option under the PageGate section in the center of the page)

6) Run the pgsetup.exe file you downloaded in step 5.

7) The ONLY option you want to run is the "Install PageGate Server" option.

8) Unless you need to change the installation directory, you can click on Next until the installation finishes.

9) After the installation finishes, run the PageGate Admin.

10) When prompted for the Program Defaults, select your preferences and click on Apply.

11) After the new database has been created, click ok OK and take the copy of the database you made in step 1 and copy it back into the Database folder, overwriting the new database.

12) Go into the PageGate Admin again.

13) Go to the Program - Settings section.

14) Where it says "Run PageGate As", move the dot down to Windows Service and Click on Apply.

15) When prompted for credentials, leave them blank and click on Apply again.

After the program has finished switching run styles, try to start it and let's see what happens.

Hi,

I have installed the PageGate for 3 times. After the installation allways the same errors.
I have also "cleared" the system:
- Clear all PageGate directories
- Clear all PageGate / NotePage registry items.

Yes,
for tests IK have intstalled PageGate on 2 other Systems. It works fine.
My problem is: I can not change the system.
Perhaps it is a problem with characters in an EVAL SQL statement (I had the same problems with my own software).

Wait... are you passing information directly to our database via SQL queries? If so, what information and in to which tables?

Hi,

no panic. I don't use your DB.
I had in another project the same error (another DB, another program).
As Example: http://www.donkarl.com/AccessFAQ.htm?/FAQ/FAQ6VBA.htm

From an earlier post of yours:
Quote:

- pgadmin: Enable / Disable GUI Client ==> Excessive Database Errors 3061 ... edit_gui apply

Is this reproducible behavior?

Do you get the error both when checking the box and hitting Apply, and unchecking the box and hitting Apply?

The errors may be related, and it will be easier to track down the one in PGAdmin.

In PG Admin, go to Program->Security->Log

Make a note of what the last entry is.

Close that window and then go to Interfaces->Gui Client->Settings. Check (or uncheck) the box and hit Apply.

If you get the error, go back to Program->Security->Log and let me know if there is a new entry in there or not (and what it says).

Thanks
