It's a communication mismatch, so try removing the N0 from the init string.
Edit - I should have paid closer attention, it didn't select one of the N0 init strings. It's still definitely a communication mismatch, though, so try setting the baud rate to 300 (don't change the init string) and let's see what happens. |

Hmm... still no change. If you would, please email me your contact information to support at notepage dot com. There are a series of things we'll need to test that'll be easier to go over by phone than by email. |

I'm almost sure that this is a parity / databits issue. However, I see no way to force the modem into using even+7.
The reference says it automatically choses the parity/stop/databits based on the parity of the initial AT command.
I contacted the manufacture, but have not heard back yet. I noticed that another forum member here managed to get the USR 56K usb modem working by obtaining a couple of undocumented AT commands from USR.
Whether or not Rosewill will respond to my request, or if those commands even exist, may or may not ever be determined.
Let me ask you this: Is PageGate DEFINATELY sending the initial AT command formatted as whatever the parity and data/stop bits are set to? Or is it waiting until after the connection to send using that format?
If the later, that could be the issue.
Thanks.

PageGate is definitely sending the AT command formatted to the communication parameters. It's the very first thing that happens when PageGate resets the modem. We pass the initial AT command to reset the modem, then immediately send the initialization string to format the communication parameters to dial out. |

If I don't hear back from the manufacture, do you have any suggestions for a cheap usb hardware-based modem that is known to work with Verizon TAP?
Also, if you think that this particular one should work that we have been trying, I could mail it to you for testing. If it could be made to work, this is a hardware usb modem for quite cheap and many people would likely find it useful, especially since you can use multiple of these on the same computer without conflict.
Thanks.
