I got a question on PageGate Licensing...

I have an existing pagegate license for 5000 users/ Get Tap/ and 1 connector.

Now, I want to make my server redundant by ... creating a new PageGate server to serve as a backup in case the current machine encounters a hardware/software issue. The users on the existing PG server will be the same that of the new PG server that I'm planning to create. Now here is my question:
Will I need another set of license?

1. If the current server and new server will be both up serving the same users (130 out of 5000 license were used)?

2. If the new server will just be on stand-by?

Thanks

You SHOULD buy a seperate license. One HUGE advantage to properly licensing the "backup" server is the fact that you can automatically synch changes between the 2 databases -this will save a LOT of time if you ever need to press the backup machine into service

A 2nd PageGate v5 would be best for using the database Synchronization feature. Pricing is at http://www.notepage.net/pricing.htm

Information in 'PageGate Admin' - 'Using the PageGate Admin' - 'Database' - 'Synchronization' in the manual at http://www.notepage.net/manualchoice.htm

Download a free trial of PageGate software at http://www.notepage.net/software.htm

Additionally, I have a license for 5000 users .. and i'm only using 150.
1. Do I have to buy a similar number of user license too?
2. Can the 5000 license be split? Or I need to buy another set of license for the backup server?

1) You SHOULD - especially since the fact that you have a 5000 recipient license means that you have Ad-Hoc messaging functionality
2) "Splitting" is not realistic - especially when you see that the price difference between a 100 user license and a 5000 user license is only $150.00

For 150 recipients, the 5000 Pager License is needed. PageGate's 5000 Pager License is $500.00, and the license cannot be split.
