First of all, can I upgrade PageGate from V4 to V5 from on a different server? Do I just copy & paste all the files to the new server? But how about hte PGAdmin.exe and Notepager? Hos should I handle those two areas?

I have done this many times - once you have a license for V5 - simply install it on the new server. Once the install is complete and you have tun the fresh install once - shut PGV5 down and copy the pagegate.mdb over to the new server. When you start PGV5 - it will prompt you that the database must be upgraded - allow this to happen and you are in business_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

Hi Aaron,
Can I upgrade PGV5in parallel with PGV4 running on the other server? I’ve copied the pgv4 db to the new server.

Hi Pam,
Yes - you can. However - if you are using the GUIClient interface - each client must be upgraded to v5 and it will no longer work with v4_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

Hi,
Should there be services for PG V5? I upgraded PG from V4 to V5 on a different with V4 still running somewhere. I don't see any pagegate services running on the V5 server even though I run PG V5 as service. And when try to start the pg client, I get the "Unable to synchronize time with scheduler. Using local time"...

| If you open the Admin on the version 5 Server and go to Program - Settings, you should see the option to run PageGate as either an Application or Service. If the option to run as a service hasn't been selected, you won't see any services. |
