Updating NotePager Pro Video Transcript:
Welcome to the
tutorial on how to update NotePager Pro to the
latest build of the program.
The first step
is to visit our website, www.notepage.net
Once there, you
may need to scroll down a little bit but you should
see the NotePager pro section in the enter of
the page.
Under the NotePager
Pro section, you'll see that we have three options:
More information, download, and Buy now.
For the purposes
of this tutorial, please left click on the Download
option.
When you left click
on download, you'll receive this prompt.
Left click on Save.
Specify the Save
In location as the Desktop.
Then left click
on Save.
Before we actually
perform the update, we'll need to do a backup
of the NotePager Pro database.
This will insure
that we don't lose any data in the transition.
The first step
is to double click on My Computer.
In My Computer,
locate your hard drive, usually Local Disk (C:),
and double click on it.
In Local Disk
(C:), locate the Program Files directory and double
click on it.
In the Program
Files directory, scroll through until you see
the NotePager Pro directory and double click on
it.
In the NotePager
Pro directory, you should see a file named npp.mdb
Right click on this file and left click on Copy.
Then close the
file browser and right click on a blank portion
of your desktop, then left click on Paste.
Now that we've
done the backup, we can commence with the update.
Locate the installation
file you downloaded earlier and double click on
it.
When you do, you
may receive this Open File Security Warning.
If so, left click
on Run.
The installation
will extract and it will come up with this screen.
To continue, left
click on Install NotePager Pro.
On the first step
of the installation, you may not need to view
the Read Me file or Release Notes, so left click
on Next.
On the second step,
be sure to read the End User License
Agreement carefully and left click on Next.
On the third step,
make sure your destination folder for the update
is the exact same as your original folder.
By default, it
should be in the Program Files directory.
If you need to
change this directory, left click on Browse.
Otherwise, left
click on Next. Left click on Next on the fourth
and then the fifth installation sections and the
installation will continue.
Once the installation
completes, left click on Finish.
To verify that
all of your information has transferred over,
double click on the NotePager Pro shortcut.
All of your recipients
should still be in the list.
