Port 444 must be open for SNPP traffic. For SMTP failover you will need your SMTP server address, port, and credentials.
Step 1 — Configure WhosResponding-PRIMARY (SNPP)
Run PG Admin. Right click Carriers, select Add.
Specify the following:
Carrier: WhosResponding-PRIMARY
Protocol: SNPP
Host: ds1.whosresponding.com
Port: 444
Max Chars: 6000
Go to Carriers — WhosResponding-PRIMARY — Advanced. Set Priority to: 1. Click Apply.
Step 2 — Configure WhosResponding-BACKUP (SMTP Failover)
Right click Carriers, select Add.
Specify the following:
Carrier: WhosResponding-BACKUP
Protocol: SMTP
Host: ds1.whosresponding.com
Port: [Port required by your SMTP server]
Max Chars: 6000
Go to Carriers — WhosResponding-BACKUP — Advanced. Select Deliver through outgoing mail server, enter relay server, username, password. Set Priority to: 1. Click Apply.
Go to
Carriers — WhosResponding-BACKUP — Template. In Settings enter:
From = [username]
EXAMPLE: From = CAD@yourdomain.com
Click Apply.
Step 3 — Configure Failover
Go to Carriers — WhosResponding-PRIMARY — Advanced. Set Failover to: WhosResponding-BACKUP. Click Apply.
Step 4 — Create Recipients
Right click Recipients, select Add.
Specify the following:
Full Name: [Agency being messaged]
Type: Normal
Carrier: WhosResponding-PRIMARY
ID/PIN: The prefix of the Who's Responding email address (before the @)
Max Chars: 6000
When integrating with a CAD system, the Recipient field must reflect CAD's name.
Click Apply.
