When WebGate is upgraded from a previous version, all the previous settings and information will be automatically upgraded too (as long as the new version of WebGate is installed to the same location as the older version).
Upgrading from WebGate version 2.x
1. IMPORTANT - If you are currently running a registered version of WebGate, be sure to obtain a registration key for version 3.x BEFORE continuing.
2. Uninstall your current version of WebGate by using the 'Add/Remove Programs' utility in the Windows control panel. This will uninstall the program files from version 2.x, but will leave your data intact.
3. Next, use the regular installation instructions found later in this section.
Upgrading from WebGate version 3.x (to a newer version of 3.x)
1. Run the 'Uninstall WebGate' program from the WebGate program group found in the Windows start menu.
2. Choose the first option: 'Uninstall Application Files Only'. This will uninstall the program files from the previous version of WebGate, but leave your data intact.
3. If you are instructed to use the 'Add/Remove Programs' utility from the Windows control panel to complete the uninstallation, do this now.
4. Next, use the regular installation instructions found later in this section.
