Step 1 — Configure Rover-PRIMARY (WCTP)
Port 443 must be open for WCTP traffic. For SMTP failover you will need your SMTP server address, port, and credentials.
Run PG Admin.
Right click Carriers, select Add.
Specify the following:
Carrier: Rover
Protocol: WCTP
Host: websvc.spotteddogtech.com/Rover.WCTP
Port: 443
Max Chars: 6000
Go to Carriers — Rover — Advanced. Set Priority to: 1. Click Apply.
Step 2 — Configure Rover-SECONDARY (SMTP Failover)
Right click Carriers, select Add.
Specify the following:
Carrier: Rover-SECONDARY
Protocol: SMTP
Host: rover.spotteddogtech.com
Port: [Port required by your SMTP server]
Max Chars: 6000
Go to Carriers — Rover-SECONDARY — Advanced. Select Deliver through outgoing mail server, enter SMTP server address, credentials. Set Priority to: 1. Click Apply.
Go to
Carriers — Rover-SECONDARY — Template. In Settings enter:
From = [username]
EXAMPLE: From = CAD@notepage.com
Click Apply.
Step 3 — Configure Failover
Go to Carriers — Rover — Advanced. Set Failover to: Rover-SECONDARY. Click Apply.
Step 4 — Create Recipients
Right click Recipients, select Add.
Specify the following:
Full Name: [Agency being messaged]
Type: Normal
Carrier: Rover
ID/PIN: Enter the Rover ID (Example: Value@rover.spotteddogtech.com)
Max Chars: 6000
When integrating with a CAD system, the Recipient field must reflect CAD's name for this recipient.
Click Apply.
