Some installations of Windows 2000 installs a 'Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) service by default. Although you probably aren't using this service, it will conflict with PageGate's email capabilities. To disable Microsoft's SMTP service go to the Windows control panel. Double-click on the 'Administrative Tools' icon. Double-click on the 'Services' icon. Double-click on the entry: 'Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP)'. Change the 'Startup type' to 'Manual' or 'Disable'. Click on the 'Stop' button. Then click on the 'OK' button.
