What is Slam Effect in Texting?

With the advent of iOS 10 Apple iPhone users are able to send imessages that contain special effects,

For instance, the Slam effect causes you text to slam down on your recipients screen — causing all of the other messages and emoji and the screen to quake from the aftershock. The slam effect makes your message slam down onto the screen, causing everything in your conversation to shake momentarily.

When sending iMessages (blue bubble, between Apple devices) , press and hold on the blue send arrow. After a few moments the effects screen should appear and you can choose an effect.

If the arrow is green, then the effects are not available with that recipient, because either the device is not an apple device, or they are not using iMessage.
