Is the make a model of the specific modem that's not working the one you put in the subject line for this thread? What are the makes and models of the modems that you've tried and have both worked and not?

yes the subject modem doesnt work for me, and i have also tried my other model of USR, but also failed.
and here's the list of my USR that doesnt work with PageGate:
USRobotics 5630B 56K Faxmodem V.92 Modem External
USRobotics 5668B 56K Message Modem V.92 External
the modem works for me are the following:
MultiTech Systems MT5634ZBA (external)
Conexant 56K Voice Modem (internal)
but i really wanted the USR to work, any help would be appreciated. thanks!

The trouble you're running into with the two modems it isn't working with is related to the initialization string. The list of init strings provided in the program is by no means an entirely comprehensive list, it just covers the most generally usable init strings.
Unfortunately, the process for finding out what initialization string will work perfectly is more voodoo and chance than actual technical research because each make and model of modem has a completely different init string. What works for one doesn't work for another, while the same init string may work perfectly for a third model. Also, unfortunately, init strings aren't generally provided by the manufacturer of the modems.
So, as a starting point in the search for an init string that will work, what baud rate are you going to try to connect to the carrier?

thanks for the infos techsupport!
if it's possible, am going to use the maximum baud rate of 115200, if not, 9600 would be ok for me, or if you have suggestion what's the best init string for the subject modem, i'll go with your suggestion.
thanks gain.

Most TAP Terminals can't actually communicate over 9600 baud. There are even some that can't communicate at even that rate. However, at 9600 baud, here are a few initialization strings you can try:
AT&F0Q0V1X4&D2&B1&K0&M0&N6
AT&FQ0V1X4&D2N0+MS=V32,0
AT&FQ0V1X4&D2N0+MS=V32
AT&FQ0V1X4&D2+MS=V32,0
AT&FQ0V1X4&D2+MS=V32
AT&FQ0V1X4&D2N0+MS=9,0
AT&FQ0V1X4&D2N0+MS=9
AT&FQ0V1X4&D2+MS=9,0
AT&FQ0V1X4&D2+MS=9
AT&FQ0V1X4&D2N0S37=9\N0%C0
AT&FQ0V1X4&D2S37=9\N0%C0
AT&FQ0V1X4&D2N0S37=5
AT&FQ0V1X4&D2S37=9
AT&FQ0V1X4&D2
AT&F0
