I'm receiving the following error trying to run a sent Message list report from PageGate v4.0:

"Excessive Database errors: 3075 Extra ) in query expression '((sent = true) and (date_time_requested >= ) and (date_time_requested <= ))'. in Procedure: frmPrintPreview ListSentMessageReport Program Halted

Please advise how to correct or if there is a bug fix for this report.

There are two things that you can try. The first, and easiest, set of stops is as follows:

1) Make sure that no one at all is in the GUI client when you do this.

2) Stop all of the system services associated with PageGate (the easiest way is to left click on the icon of the pager in your system tray and click on stop).

3) Close the PageGate Monitor.

4) In the PageGate Admin, Go to the Database section.

5) In the Database section, go to Tools -> Rebuild Database. It'll bring you a warning, say yes.

The database rebuild should take anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on how many carriers/recipients/groups you have.

6) Once complete, restart the system services (again, click on the icon of the pager and click on start).

7) Open up the PageGate Monitor. After a few seconds, the licensed portions of PageGate will go from Red to Green.

That should fix the errors you've been having with PageGate but if not, you'll need to do the following:

Again, you absolutely have to make sure that no one and nothing is accessing PageGate, no GUI clients, system services, or monitors.

Once you've backed up the database and created the a directory, try the following:

1) In the PageGate Admin, go to Database -> Export.

2) Select the first option in the list.

3) Browse to the empty directory.

4) Name the file to mirror what we're exporting (Settings, Connectors, etc).

Repeat these same steps for all of the available options under Export (from Settings all the way down to Lookup Table).

5) Once you've done that, you'll need to terminate the PageGate System services, close all of the GUI clients, monitors, and even the Admin.

6) Once there are absolutely no functions of PageGate running, browse to the directory you have PageGate installed to.

7) In that directory, you should have a PageGate.mdb file (the same one we made a backup of earlier). Rename that file to PageGate.bak

8) After the file has been renamed, run the PageGate Admin. It will take you through an initial setup screen as it creates a blank PageGate database.

9) Once the blank PageGate database has been created, in the Admin program, go to Database -> Import.

10) Select each of the options under Import, pointing it to the directory that we exported everything to and be sure to match what we're importing to the file of the same name.

11) After you've imported all of the information, restart the PageGate system services.

I tried following the first set of instructions.

I ran into some problems trying to shut down PageGate. The PageGate server starts up automatically when you logon . No Icon appears in
the system tray on the toolbar. I went into Task Manager and went to 'Processes' and found several exec files for PageGate. When I tried to end process, 'access denied' message came up. I Also, when I clicked on 'Database', there were no options from the instructions.

I suspect there's another logonid with the authority.
