I am trying to configure NotePager to work with both Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile.
The problem lies with the need to use the SMTP protocol with these carriers.
So far I have not been able to send a message and I am note sure how I should configure the product. So far I have not been able to find much in the way of documentation on this matter.
Firstly, if I check "Deliver directly to destination server" I am then provided with two fields: "DNS Server 1" and "DNS Serve 2".
Why is it asking for the DNS servers? In order to route the destination server request? How do I configure what the destination server is? If I am using Verizon, and I want to send to #####@vtext.com, does NotePager look at the DNS servers in order to find vtext.com?
If so, are these DNS servers necessary or does NotePager use the generic WWW DNS servers to find vtext.com if I do not include our company's DNS servers? (Plus, our company's DNS servers are for the LAN, not the WAN.)
Secondly, if I can not use the Deliver directly to destination server option, how can I route the message through an e-mail server without authentication options?
Both our local and non-local e-mail servers require user authentication in order to send messages for two important reasons:
1. To avoid being blacklisted;
2. To avoid every Spammer in the US and beyond routing messages through our servers.
