Using Webgate going to an SMTP recipent, we only recieve when there is a valid email address in the from field. I know that Cingular is making all the final changes on their server today to get everything up and running in Cingular mode. Is this something new, or is this correct? If this is the way that it is going to be is there a way to "hardcode" a valid email address into WebGate so that users don't have to put in a valid email address everytime they use WebGate.

I just looked as well and I can't send from the admin panel without a valid email address. So what am I missing?

Thanks frustrated been working with this for a while now.

Steve

Which template file(s) are you using for the web page?

Cingular's SMTP server requires a "From" email address on all SMTP messages.

Do you have something entered into the "Local Domain" field, under 'Connectors' - 'Global' - 'SMTP'?

I am useing the standard templates that came with WebGate.

Yes there is an entry (not an email address) in the local domain space in the Admin Console. Is this where the valid email address has to be?

Thanks
Steve

The "Local Domain" is what PageGate should be using (in addition to the "From" on the web page) to create the a "Sender email address".

"FROM"+"@"+"LOCAL DOMAIN" = email address (PageGate will add the "@").

The "Local Domain"should look something like "xyz.com" or "abc.net".

You may be able to "Hard Code" an address in the template file.

Which template file are you using (look under the "Web Page" object in the Recipient or Group settings)?
