Problem with emails and SMTP.

Hi

I am using PageGate to answer incomming calls using GetTap. The message is accepted and relayed to the recipient (i know this by watching the monitor). I want to contact the recipient using his email adress.

However at this point PageGate can't send the email. It retries until the maximum number of retries is reached.

The dialer seems to hang for a moment at the "Trying host: mail.xxxxx.com" line.

What settings should I check so the email can be sent correctly?

I am also wondering something else, I am receiving the following data from my GetTap interface. The first two times the message is received correctly. While the third time around the exact same message is sent from my remote program and PageGate only receives a weird string of characters. It seems to receive correctly completely at random I can't identify a pattern.

Could this be related to my modem init string? (I use a boca modem v.34 with the default ATS0=1 init string) or to any other settings in the PageGate program? I also tried to reduce de baud rate from 2400 to 1200 then to 300. Nothing worked.

Forget about my second post, I added %C0 to my init string to disable compression and the data is now received correctly by PageGate.

However I still can't forward my message to an email adress. (my first post)
