When configuring the outgoing SMTP connection in PageGate, I am using the required port and a fully authenticated user account. However, we suspect the connection is failing due to a problem negotiating the required TLS/SSL security protocol with the provider. Is there a specific setting in PageGate that allows us to force a minimum TLS version to prevent connection failures with modern secure mail servers?

There is a Template setting you can use to control that.

In PageGate Admin expand the Carriers section and then go to the Template object under the Carrier that is being used to deliver those SMTP messages.

In the Settings section of the Template screen you can set the

SmtpTLSVersion

variable

Valid values are:
default
TLS 1.3
TLS 1.2
TLS 1.1
TLS 1.0
SSL 3.0
TLS 1.3 or higher
TLS 1.2 or higher
TLS 1.1 or higher
TLS 1.0 or higher

So, as an example you can use this:

SmtpTLSVersion = TLS 1.3 or higher
