We've had pagegate working for sometime - it's running v7 and works well. We've just had to change SMS / API provider and we're now using HTTP and whilst we've got that working with one provider, our prefered provider has a slightly longer URL (about 43 characters - it does include both the domain name together with a folder and the page name) that we need to use - but that data doesnt seem to save into pagegate. If we use a shorter URL (around 30 characters) then it works fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas - URL redirection doesnt seem to work (from tinyurl) - but it seems a small character limit. Not sure if a newer version would help too.

Ah, that was a limitation in version 7 that we resolved in versions 8 and 9.

The easiest solution would be to upgrade, that way the character limit for that field is much higher (250 characters in v9).

Thanks for the quick reply - I assume the same limitations exist with HTTP GET and HTTP POST? - The hostname is short enough, but it's the rest of the path to get to the URL...

Will have a look at upgrading also.

Thanks

That is correct; the same limitations exist with HTTP GET and POST in version 7. It was a global field length (for certain fields) issue in that version.
