I am installing the version 8 GUI client on a workstation under a domain admin account. I set up the settings to point to our server and set the radio button to set the settings for all local users. When I then log on as a general, non-admin user and run the program, I am presented with the screen called "Server Database" which has one editable field in it called "Server Database". The value in this field shows my correct server information. when I click Apply, the program opens up just fine. If I close down and re-open it is fine. The problem arises when I log off the user, log back on, and re-run the program, I am again presented with this Server Database window. Rinse and repeat.
What permissions, if any, am I missing with the setup of a GUI client on a workstation?

There are two reasons that prompt can appear:
1) On startup PGC can't find the pagegate.mdb file
2) On startup there was an error accessing the pagegate.mdb file
As a test, try logging in with a non-administrative account and, before you run the PageGate
Client, check the following registry keys:
HKEY_Local_Machine - Software - Wow6432Node - NotePage - NotePagerNet - DB_Dir
HKEY_Current_User - Software - NotePage - NotePagerNet - DB_Dir
Make a note of whether either exists and what their value if the do.
Then run the PageGate Client and accept the path, then exist the program and check those same values. Did their locations or values change? |
