Solarwinds has difficulty accessing certain information that Windows places in user profile virtualized instances of the registry and file system. As a result, your instance of Solarwinds may not be able to see the information provided by NotePager Pro for integration. To resolve, do this:
Before we do anything else, we'll need to make a backup of the database:
1) Open NotePager Pro.
2) Go to Help - Folders.
3) Make a note of the 'Global Database' directory, then browse to that location in a Windows File Explorer.
4) Make a copy of 'npp.mdb' somewhere convenient.
Next we'll configure the program's new storage method:
1) In Windows, run Regedit.
2) Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - Software - Wow6432Node - NotePage
3) Create a new Key and name it: NotePagerPro
NOTE: This is both case and punctuation sensitive
4) Go in to the new key.
5) Create a new String value and name it: LocalDB
NOTE: This is both case and punctuation sensitive
6) Set the value of the LocalDB to: True
NOTE: This is both case and punctuation sensitive
7) Close regedit.
Last, we will need to restore the database:
1) Right click on the shortcut for 'NotePager Pro' and select 'Run as Administrator'
2) Close the registration prompt, then close the program.
3) Right click on the shortcut for 'NotePager Pro' and select 'Open file location'
4) Browse in to the GlobalDB sub-directory of your NotePager Pro program directory.
5) Copy backup database in to this folder and overwrite the existing file.
From this point forward, NotePager Pro should keep things in a non-virtualizable location to make sure Solarwinds has access to them. |
