We are sending SNPP from our CAD Server (New World/Tyler). The messages are getting refused. New World support is telling us it's because they're not getting the correct response back and the it looks like the SNPP service on the pagegate end is dropping.
I looked in the SNPP log on Pagegate and there's a message 'Evaluation version stopped' for the last 7 days. We did buy the SNPP. Our s/n is 17766. How can we fix this? It has never really worked but the New World service was dropping so we were waiting for that to be fixed which it is now.

It sounds like the registration information wasn't applied to the SNPP server, so it thinks it's running in evaluation mode. Here's what you'll want to do:
1) Browse in to the directory in which you have the SNPP server executable and files. If you're uncertain what this folder is, open the Services list in Windows and go in to the properties of the PageGate SNPP service.
2) In that folder, you'll see a file called 'snpp.ini'. Open that file in your preferred text editor, like Notepad or Wordpad.
3) Add the following line to the bottom of the file:
Registration=Your PageGate Registration Key
To determine your registration key, open PG Admin and go to the 'Registration' section. Along the bottom, you will see the number sequence that needs to be added to the SNPP server's configuration file.
4) Save and close 'snpp.ini'
5) Restart the PageGate SNPP service to get it to accept the new registration information.
If you have any other trouble, please let us know and we'll be happy to help. |

I did that. Now it says 'registered version' and the .asc file is getting created. However, I still do not get the text message on my cell phone. It is Verizon emag.
This is what the snpp log says:

Just to double check, when you open snpp.ini, what does it say the OutputFolder is?
Also, if you open PG Admin and go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings, is the same directory referenced there?
If not, go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings - Advanced Polling - Files. Is there a reference to the path there? |

Ah, I think we've found the issue. The SNPP server reads in messages and outputs them as .asc files for the GetAscii interface to process and it sounds like GetAscii hasn't been configured to do that on your system. Here's what you'll want to do:
1) In PG Admin, go to Interfaces - GetAscii - Advanced Polling - Files.
2) Click Add.
3) Specify the following:
Recipient: *
From:
File(s): *.asc
Path: The path to your SNPP server's output folder as specified in snpp.ini
File Type: Standard
4) Click Apply.
Just to let you know, all of the messages the SNPP server has successfully processed are sitting in the output folder. You may want to clear that folder of .asc files before configuring the Advanced Polling rule as the program will read in anything in the folder when you apply it. |

If you would, please send the c:\PageGateData\Logs\*.log files to support at notepage dot com. I'd like to have a look at the GetAscii log during the timeframe after the rule was applied and check to see if the messages are making it in to the queue. |

Is your EMAG configured to accept SNPP traffic - When Verizon sets EMAG up, they must manually implement each inbound protocol, it does not accept SNPP by default. Alternatively, you can easily configure your PageGate to accept SNPP traffic from Tyler then use SMTP to deliver to EMAG - although delivery via SNPP or WCTP to EMAG is far more reliable_________________ Aaron D. Thank you for sending the logs. What's odd is that I don't see anything in the GetAscii log, as if it doesn't see the content generated. If you would, please send a screenshot of the following sections of PG Admin:
Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings
Interfaces - GetAscii - Settings - Advanced Polling - Files
I noticed your phone number in your email's signature and will follow up with you there as well. |

To follow up on the thread, the issue was a naming convention mismatch between the CAD system and PageGate. The CAD system could only be configured to reference a 10 digit number for a recipient's name and the recipients and groups in PageGate were under alphanumeric designations.
To resolve the issue, we renamed the recipients in PageGate to match the numeric sequences from CAD as the CAD data could not be altered. |
