Hi there
we discovered that for some reason, NPP would not send pages anymore for a few days unless someone is actually logged on to the server.
This is completely new behavior, no update was actually installed on the server, nothing that we think of that could have affected this.
I think I already saw that in the past or on some previous posts...
Any idea?
FYI, we are running NPP 5.06 on Win2012R2 virtual server, Solarwinds integrated.
Thanks!

Just to double check, are the messages that are passed when no one is logged in still processed once someone logs in or is the issue that nothing comes across if no one is logged in?
Also, you may want to consider switching to our other platform, PageGate. NotePager Pro, as you're noticing, only runs as an application and that can have its own inherent pitfalls. PageGate can integrate with Orion in the same way that NotePager Pro does but PageGate can be configured to run as a Windows Service, which sounds like it might be the preferable solution in this case. |

Correct. pages are pending until someone logs in. then the app starts processing pending items and queue gets cleared.
Please advise.
(I get your point about moving to the other software but this was working properly until a few days back. We may look into this option at a future time)
thanks!

Hm... there's a bit of information I'd like to gather. If you would, please email the NotePager Pro log to support at notepage dot com:
1) Open NotePager Pro.
2) Go to View - Activity Log.
3) Click on the Clipboard button.
4) Paste that in to a file and save it.
Please give us a few timeframes for when you had logged out of the server but traffic was still sent by Orion, that way we know when to reference in the logs.
Also, do the messages immediately start sending as soon as someone logs in or do you have to manually launch the application after signing in for the message delivery to begin? |
