Newly built serve 2012, IIS and with the newly purchased Pagegate 7.
migrated DB, etc. ... I have GetWeb working.

Had to install a legacy modem: generic settings in Com1: 9600, Even, 7, 1

Thing is it looks like it tries to send, but I get a No Carrier right when it is supposed to send the message.

Just to double check, what TAP system are you trying to dial in to? Is it a carrier's TAP terminal or an in-house terminal?

Also, what communication parameters does that terminal require for the handshake?

I do not see the TAP initiation string - are you sure the number you are dialing is a TAP compliant terminal?

This is an internal TAP to our center.

I'll verify with our Comm people.

OzCom - you make a good point too - I hadn't noticed, but the 2nd init string is the same as first.... looks like the DB chose the first one automatically after upgrade. I'll test the others in the drop down. (I have 6 to choose from)

Thanks for your input.

We have installed pagegate on Windows server 2012 after having it work successfully on Windows 2008 for a long time. We are having difficulties with modem settings. The server is talking to the modem and tries to connect but drops the carrier. We initially tried it with the same setting we had with Server 2008 for the modem and have tired to use the auto feature to find the correct modem string. Any ideas

There are several factors that can affect TAP negotiation sequences.

What make and model of modem was your Server 2008 system using?

What make and model of modem is your Server 2012 system using?

What version of PageGate were you using on the Server 2008 system and what version of PageGate are you using on the Server 2012 system?

Whose TAP system are you trying to dial in to and what communication parameters do you currently have set for that carrier?

Also, if you would, please email the c:\PageGateData\Logs\*.log files from the PageGate server to support at notepage dot com so we can have a look at what's happening during the TAP negotiation sequence.
