When you receive an SNPP message through Verizon's EMAG system, will the recipient get a 'from' number or something similiar that can identify it as coming from PageGate? I have some clients that want to set a unique ringtone on their phone when they receive them.

I'm not sure what the definite answer to your question is. Originally, I'd thought that the EMAG Gateway was passing along the original Sender's Name value that PageGate passes but we've recently been speaking with several clients about this and that doesn't seem to be the case.

So, having said that, during the SNPP transaction, PageGate IS identifying the sending system and IS passing the Sender's Name value you've programmed in but it's up to the EMAG Gateway as to what it does with that information. If your people are currently getting what appears to be a random number sequence instead of a static sender's name, that behavior is controlled by the EMAG Gateway, so you may want to contact the EMAG Tech Support about having the Sender's Name values PageGate is passing to it passed along to the phones.

The Verizon Code can be fixed to the same number every time, because I just did it for my Agency and they are VERY happy. Log into your Verizon EMAG Site and click on "Connections" then click on "SNPP Connections". If you have added an SNPP connection then it should be listed there. Either create a connection or just click on the "Id" number. On the "Update SNPP Connection" screen the top field should be the "Fixed Code" field, click on the dropdown and choose a number and save it. Then try sending out Verizon pages, they should all us the same number each time.
