HI...
Just wondering if anyone got Pagegate working with MTCBA-H5-EN2.
I have Australian Telstra SIM in MTCBA-H5-EN2 and Pagagate v7.0.
No matter what I do, I could not get the Pagegate to detect the serial port so I have installed HW Virtual Serial Port installed and configured.
YES, this one does get detected.
I have simple setup just to do some testing via Telstra GSM-AT and connector1 as AT+CSQ with Serial port 4.
And this what I get....in connector1 log
Start connection to carrier: Telstra
Connect using GSM protocol
Setting communication parameters (115200,n,8,1)
Attempting to reset modem
Sent:AT<CR>
Attempting to reset modem
Sent:AT<CR>
Attempting to reset modem
Sent:AT<CR>
Attempting to hang up modem
Sent:AT<CR>
Attempting to hang up modem
Sent:AT<CR>
Attempting to hang up modem
Sent:AT<CR>
Carrier retry limit reached. Marking pending messages as bad
FAILED Stn:0 To:test Frm:Notepage Msg:test

1) Stop PageGate
2) Open PuTTY or HyperTerminal
3) Point the terminal session to COM 4
4) Enter "AT"<enter>
If you do NOT get an "OK" response - the issue is that Windows cannot see the device on that COM port_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

@OzCom
Thanks you for that and I have done that too.
I do get "OK" via COM4 (Virtual serial port) but not via COM1 (physical port)
but that fine, we will not be using physical serial port. (Server and the Mulititech modem is too far from each other.
Just to give more info.....I also put "AT+CSQ" and I get "+CSQ: 12,1"
But this is intermittent. Sometimes I get the above result and sometimes I get "ERROR"
Is this mean I have a faulty modem?

@OzCom..
I got this working now....I thought I knew things but I should read more and carefully....
The manual was saying the SOLID GREEN light on "LS" was NO transmitting.
And I should have double checked the SIM.
I changed to normal SIM and bang....I got the messages....
One question I have is for OzCom is.....
If the SIM is secured (PIN locked) would it have worked?
Would I have to put some kind of AT string to unlock before Notepage can send it?
Regards

Generally, the SIM Unlock is only required when the device is initially set up. If your specific carrier or cellular account requires an nlock code prior to every communication, you can place it in the connector initialization string. Remember that PageGate does not really "know" it it talking with a cellular modem, it is merely pumping commands at a COM port_________________ Aaron D. Osgood
