I am trying out PageGate and wanting to integrate it with a 3rd party system that will be sending messages to it via serial TAP. I went thru and set up the GetTAP portion to the correct baud rates and have it setup for direct. My problem I am encountering is that I am receiving <CR> from the third party system, PageGate will then send ID=, but the 3rd party system wont continue unless it gets ID=<CR><LF> (in the 3rd party system log files it says its an incorrect response to the wakeup string)

Is there a way to set up PageGate to send "ID=<CR><LF>" instead of "ID="?

Below is an example of what the 3rd party system is expecting.

RX is the 3rd party system sending information
TX would be PageGate transmitting information

Rx: <CR>

Tx: ID=<CR><LF>

Rx: <ESC>PG1<CR>

Tx: 110 1.8 TAPIn Ready<CR><ACK><CR><ESC>[p<CR>

Rx: <STX>2088<CR>HOLD PCA<CR><ETX>30<<CR>

Tx: 211 Message sent deferred delivery.<CR><ACK><CR>

Rx: <EOT><CR>

Tx: 115 Goodbye.<CR><ESC><EOT><CR><CR>

That's a non-standard nomenclature for the TAP protocol, so the program doesn't support it by default. We can, however, create a special build of the program that plays by those rules and will post a followup comment with download and installation information when the build becomes available, which will likely be next week (3/3 - 3/7).

This may seem basic - but - 2 questions:

1) Are you using an analog modem? If so, the MODEM may be generating the spurious commands - this is controlled by the initialization string
2) If you are using getTAP module (NOT the getSERIAL module) as a direct connect configuration, make sure you are using a NULL modem serial cable, not a standard serial cable (different pinouts)

We have installed many instances of PageGate with the getTAP option all over the country to connect to legacy systems.

Actually - I just re-read your original post - your SENDING system is not having an issue with the <CR><LF>

This is proven by the line "Rx: <ESC>PG1<CR> "

In other words, if it didn't know what to do with the <CR><LF>, it would not have responded with "PG1"

Can you post the actual section log of the getTAP or getSERIAL log?
