Pagegate resending old pages

Our pagegate service seems to stop randomly, which is another issue. But when we start the service again pages from the past bombard our phones.
How do we avoid this? Last time it queued up over 3000 pages and started sending them out. I had to stop pagegate.

What version of PageGate are you currently using?
