Hello,
I am a Verizon EMAG customer and recently started receiving "Invalid response from host" on all the secure WCTP messages. It will eventually fail over to our backup using unsecured WCTP which works fine.
My settings for WCTP secure which no longer work are:
https://enterprisemessaging.vzw.com/wctp/wctp
I used Google Chrome and a RESP extension to manually submit the message using WCTP secure, this should mimic what PageGate is doing but that works fine and I get a valid response.
Is there any way to see exactly what PageGate is seeing other than invalid response? Here is an excerpt from the log.

If you would, go in to the properties of the pagegate.exe in the PageGate program directory and let me know what File Version it says you're using. |

If you would, please email your contact information to support at notepage dot com
There are a few tests I'd like to run but due to the sensitive nature of the secure host you're using and the logs potentially containing your credentials, it's probably better to do this via email rather than a public forum. |

I am seeing the same error when integrating to Verizon SNPP due to the password limitations on NotePager Pro. Verizon SNPP integration requires a Username (6 characters) & Password (min 15 characters). On at least one version of NotePager Pro, it appears that the max password length is 10 characters & that there is no Username field. I have not found a resolution to this issue to date...

This thread was originally created for PageGate, which handles things a bit differently than NotePager Pro does.
To address the post related to NotePager Pro, however, the current build of NotePager Pro, 3.0.0.10, can handle up to 40 characters in the password field. For most SNPP hosts, you'll want to use the username and password separated by a space in the password field. The reason for this is that the authentication in SNPP is done via the LOGI command and the LOGI command pulls its information out of the password field. Now, I'm not sure if Verizon also verifies based on the Sender's name or if the Sender's name needs to match the Username but if it does, you can always go to Tools - Settings - General and set the Sender's Name value to the username. |
