We currently use SMTP for our recipients, however we seem to be seeing slow delivery times. Do either protocol require specific ports to be opened?

SNPP requires port 444, WCTP requires port 80. However, not every carrier supports those protocols, so it depends on who you're sending the messages through as to whether or not you would be able to use them.

Thanks! I'll check with my IT dept to see if they will open those ports, and go from there!

Remember: Not all carriers support SNPP or WCTP. Of the Cellular carriers, ATT, Verizon and Sprint support either protocol but require that you pre-register as an authorized sender before it will work. Additionally, once you are registered with them, they can only communicate with recipient devics subscribed to their network.

To OzCom

I'm using the SNPP for Sprint and Ntelos,

However I use TAP for ATT and Verizon.

Do you have contact information where I can pre-register as an authorized sender for ATT & Verizon? Thanks in advance.
