At the end of each month, I have to run a report for the boss listing all the messages sent so they can be billed as part of the month accounting process.

We have numerous "Groups" to which we send messages, which of course have multiple members. For the purpose of this question, I'll use 10 groups with 10 members each. Now if we send 20 messages to each group every month, then that is a total of 20000 messages per month (if I've done my math correctly).

Problem is that when I run the monthly report, it lists the 20 messages per group, then for each individual member also lists the 20msgs, but the members are not grouped together on the report according to their group membership. This means the Boss either charges each group for only 20 msgs, instead of the 2000 per group that is actually sent and @ roughly 22cents per message, that adds up to a lot of lost revenue

Is there a way to run a report for all recipients and have it group the recipients according to the group they below to (if they are a member of a group) with a total of messages sent per group?

Unfortunately, I can't think of a direct way to do that in the PageGate Admin's Reports. What you can do, however, is go to the Database - Tools - Export section and export the Messages. You can then open the resulting .txt file in Excel and work/rework the data in any way you see fit, which will probably allow you to get the results you're looking for.

Alternatively, print a statistics report BY RECIPIENT and select the GROUPS (hold <CTRL> to select multiple groups)

Thanks guys,

Aaron, Unfortunately, the Stats report doesn't show the groups in the recipients list, so can't run that report.

As I have to generate this type of report every month, manual manipulation of data in excel will become too time consuming. I'll brush the cobwebs off my ACCESS database memory and see if I can create a report within Access or at least a macro or similar with Excel
