We have a solarwinds solution.

My problem is that the solarwinds application and notepager is a vm on a bladeserver and is located in serverhall.

So the modem is in our office. what is best practice to get this up and running?

Can you split notepager from the solarwinds server and run it local here together with the modem? how do solarwinds sync with notepager?

Help is needed.

Thanks in advance.

/Martin

Martin,

It may be possible to do what you want to do but you'll need to reconfigure all of your Alerts. The automatic integration Orion has with NotePager Pro only works if NotePager Pro is installed on the same system as Orion.

So, what you can do is install NotePager Pro on the workstation with the modem and then share the NotePager Pro folder on the network, making sure to give the Orion system Full Permissions to the folder and its contents.

Once you do that, you can go in to Orion and reconfigure the Trigger and Reset actions to use a command line/external executable. The command you'll need to use is:

\\workstationmachinename\NotePager Pro\npp.exe <recipient> <sender> <message>

For example:

\\NPComputer\NotePager Pro\npp.exe Alerts Orion This is a test.

That example would send a message to a recipient or group named Alerts from the Sender Orion and the message text would say "This is a test".
