|
|
Hey all
Ive been speaking with Jeremy from Notepage in regards to a number of issues and hes been great but as this isnt a Notepage related issue i wanted to throw it out there for anyone to join in.
So, my issue is that im getting CMS ERROR 513 when trying to send SMS messages
The SIM registers fine:
AT+CREG?
+CREG: 0,5
OK
I've taken the SIM out and used in a phone to make phone-calls and SMS messages so i know that the SIM is OK
The modem is a Wavecom unit
Here is the specific output
AT+CMGS="0759****043"
> TEST<Ctrl-Z>
+CMS ERROR: 513
(Ive tried both local and international phone number formats to no avail)
A quick obvious Google of the problem tells me that +CMS ERROR 513 means... "Unable to store"
Not very helpful!

What is the response to the command: AT+CSQ
Also - try using ONLY 10 digits
I will add that I have never had good luck getting the Wavecom device(s) to RELIABLY work_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

I've just moved the modem into the Chassis that is hosting the VMware box and the modem has decided to no longer register the SIM
This is really odd, i cant believe we're the only people in the world to use a GSM modem for Solar-winds alerting

You are not.................we have installed MANY instances of PageGate coupled with an industrial cellular modem and fed by SolarWinds (or any of several other monotiring systems). The issues we've found with various cell modem manufacturors is why we have settled exclusively on the MultiTech line - these are virtually bulletproof and reliable.
We are now also a MultiTech Optimum authorized reseller_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

Could you please suggest a model for us?
We only have USB ports on the chassis and we're in the UK
