Is NotePager Pro sending messages out using SMTP? Direct delivery or relay through your local email server? In NPP's menu bar, select: Carriers - Edit, and double click on a carrier to view the settings.
You may also want to search this forum for: 554

Could be us cellular and att are no longer accepting direct DNS connection requests from your network.
The mx record for your IP address may be blocked.
Also, try checking "Send Subject" on a us cellular recipient and att recipient.

I hope this helps. If you search this forum for: 554, others and NP Tech Support have posted about this.

Those are called 554 rejection notices. Through no fault of your own or anyone on your network and irrespective of the timing, your Internet Service Provider's MTA record has been downgraded from good standing to poor standing. This means that most of the major carriers will no longer accept direct connection requests from anyone on your ISP's IP range, hence the 554 rejection notice. There are two ways around this:
1) Contact your Internet Service Provider's Tech Support and ask them to do a telnet test to a.mx.uscc.net or smtp-bb.vtext.com on port 25. Then explain that the 421 or 554 rejection responses they receive indicate that their MTA record is in poor standing. They may be able to do something about that.
2) If they can't or won't do anything about their MTA record, you're going to have to relay your traffic through their authenticated SMTP host. To do that, you're going to need the answer to these questions:
a) What SMTP Server can you use?
b) Does that server require authentication?
c) If so, what specific authentication credentials should you use?
Once you get that information, let us know and we'll go from there. |
