Hello,

we have recently lost the ability to send smtp messages to our cellular clints. we are able to send messages from our GUI to our customers that run on TAP (VHF paging system).

have upgraded our GUI clients and also our server software (server is 5.0.0.95).

have the following message come up when we try to open PG admin on the server

PG ADMIN FATAL ERROR:
"EXCESSIVE DATA BASE ERRORS - 3197 THE MICROSOFT JET DATABASE ENGINE STOPPED THE PROCEDURE BECAUSE YOU AND ANOTHER USERS ARE ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE THE SAME DATA AT THE SAME TIME. IN PROCEDURE: MAIN PROGRAM HALTED

I am unaware of any changes that are trying to be made currently. i have unplugged the network connection and restarted to verify that no one else on the system is trying to login to this server.

Thanks!!

That sounds like something set a file lock on the LDB file that spawns from the database. So, here's what you want to do:

1) Shut each and every component of PageGate down. Make sure no PG Clients are running, not the Admin, not the Monitor, not the Services.

2) Check the PageGate Database directory to see if a file called pagegate.ldb exists.

3) If it does, delete it.

3a) If it won't let you deleted it, go to the Administrative Tools in your Control Panel in Windows.

3b) Go in to Computer Management.

3c) On the left hand side, go to Shared Folders - Open Files.

3d) Terminate the session of anything that has pagegate.mdb or pagegate.ldb open.

3e) Try to delete the file again.

After the pagegate.ldb file, if it exists, has been deleted, try to run the PageGate Admin and it shouldn't give you an error. You can then restart the services.
