We are running pagegate and would like to integrate with microsoft exchange. I would like to send an email to an address with the pager # in the subject line and have pagegate send it out our paging system. I only see options for SMTP and POP3 in the software. Is there a way to integrate with Exchange?

Thanks
Todd

It's entirely possible. The best way to do what you want to do is create a sub-domain off of your Exchange Server, then redirect the Mx record for the sub-domain at the IP of the PageGate Server. Once you do that, you can configure the GetMail module to use the sub-domain as the Local Domain value.

After you do that, every recipient and group becomes a valid email address on the sub-domain. So, for example, if you created a sub-domain called paging.whatever.com with this and then had a group called alerts, you could send an email to alerts@paging.whatever.com and PageGate would accept the incoming traffic, then send it to the members of the group.

Now, alternatively, you can create an ad-hoc recipient in the same kind of a setup. If you named the recipient adhoc, you could send an email to adhoc@paging.whatever.com with a pager number in the subject line and the program wouldd read the email in and send it to whatever pager numbers were listed in the subject line.
