I started GetMail and now can not force a postmaster address. It keeps clearing that field to nothing. Is there a way to force this address to something specific?

Thanks, Harry

Are you trying to get it to pull POP3 mail from elsewhere, act as a mailserver, or both?

No pop3, just a mailserver. We use gettap and the postmaster address is what was always there as the from to address when we sent out messages. We are still using this and need the from to address. The data coming into gettap doesn't provide the from to address.

Just out of curiosity, if you go into the properties of the pagegate.exe file in the PageGate program directory and then go under the Version tab, what file version does it say you're running?

I lost track of this....sorry. It is version 5.0.0. I am wanting to force the postmaster(from to) address, no matter who sent the message via getmail into pagegate.

I would appreciate any help. Thanks

You can force the sender by entering the sendername in the getTAP module. It will take that SENDER NAME and place it with the DOMAIN in CONNECTORS - SETTINGS - SMTP

Yep, that works for the gettap messages. However, the postmaster field in getmail and connectors is blank. When I add an address it gets wiped out back to nothing. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Harry

Is 5.0.0.0 really the version number in the properties of the pagegate.exe in your PageGate program directory? If so, the first thing you'll want to do is update the program to the most recent build. Here's how to do that:

1) Make a backup of the pagegate.mdb file (typically located in c:\pagegatedata\database\). This is the single most important thing you can do before you update.

2) Stop PageGate. Make sure that none of the services or programs are running. Make ABSOLUTELY SURE that nothing in regards to PageGate is running.

3) Browse into the PageGate program directory (typically c:\program files\pagegate)

4) Move or delete ALL of the .exe files from this directory.

5) Download the latest installation file for PageGate from our website: http://www.notepage.net (click on the download option under the PageGate section in the center of the page)

6) Run the pgsetup.exe file you downloaded in step 5.

7) The ONLY option you want to run is the "Install PageGate Server" option.

8) Unless you need to change the installation directory, you can click on Next until the installation finishes.

9) Reboot the system.

Okay, now that you've updated, try to set that value and let us know if it saves it?

I can now get it to save using an email that can receive mail. If I try to use a bogus email account it won't save. I'm assuming this is correct, it checks for that?

Yes, if you try to use a bogus address, it won't actually save the value.

Ok, then I'm all set. Thanks again for the help.
