We have been using pagegate software and I saw this new feature on pagegate 5.0 that we could send messages to a mobile phone using a direct connect mobile phone itself connected to a serial port. How do we setup this one and exactly what brand of cell phone we could use for this purpose? Also there is in the setup Init strings, how do we know what Init strings to use, baud rate etc....

Well, the device you have will determine the baud rate, data bits, parity, and stop bits. The defaults, which may or may not work with your particular device, are 9600 baud, no parity, 8 data bits, and 1 stop bit.

As for the hardware you would need, there are many devices available. A lot of our clients have had success with the Multitech line of cellular modems, though OzCom has more information about the specifics of cellular modems than we do.
