Hi

I have installed PageGate 5.0.9 on my Windows XP PC with devolo MicroLink 56k i modem and set Sceduler, GetAscii und Connector1 as Windows Service. Now I get following Errors:

Sceduler - Program Halted. Database error: 3265 Element in dieser Auflistung nicht gefunden. in Procedure: main2

Connector1 - Program Halted. Database error: 3219 Unzulässige Operation. in Procedure: logit

The modem is connected on COM8 and I set Serial Port 8 under Connector1 --> Settings.

Under Windows Device Management I get following result from "Qery Modem":

Okay, the two errors you're getting are indicating that the program is having trouble accessing its registry settings as well as its logging folder. Since you're running PageGate as a Windows Service, go into the properties of each of the PageGate services and go under the Log On tab. Once there, give each service a set of master administrative credentials and let's see if that fixes the problem.

I did it and I've got the same errors. Than I have tried to start PageGate as Application but I've got following errors in program global log: Program Halted. Database error: 3265 Element in dieser Auflistung nicht gefunden

Then, I have tried to start again as Windows Services but I've got the same errors and following entries in program global log:

PGSched start detected
Asking PGGAscii service to start
Asking Connector1 service to start
Log ping...
Unable to synchronized time with scheduler. Using local time.
Asking PGSched service to start
Asking PGGAscii service to start
Asking Connector1 service to start

The sceduler and connector1 didn't start.

What now? Thank you.

I'm not entirely certain, this is not typical behavior for the software. What Service Pack of Windows XP are you using? Also, what build of PageGate?

To check to the build of PageGate, browse into the PageGate program directory and go into the properties of the pagegate.exe file. Then go under the Version tab.

If you would, try this please:

1) Make a backup of the pagegate.mdb file (typically located in c:\pagegatedata\database\). This is the single most important thing you can do before you update.

2) Stop PageGate. Make sure that none of the services or programs are running. Make ABSOLUTELY SURE that nothing in regards to PageGate is running.

3) Browse into the PageGate program directory (typically c:\program files\pagegate)

4) Move or delete ALL of the .exe files from this directory.

5) Download the latest installation file for PageGate from our website: http://www.notepage.net (click on the download option under the PageGate section in the center of the page)

6) Run the pgsetup.exe file you downloaded in step 5.

7) The ONLY option you want to run is the "Install PageGate Server" option.

8) Unless you need to change the installation directory, you can click on Next until the installation finishes.

9) Reboot the system.

Let's see if that makes any kind of a difference.
