Hello,

We purchased the MultiModem (CDMA & Verizon) and installed it.
I could send the text message using HyperTerminal, but not with PageGate.

PageGate was set as follows.

Serial Port is 6.
Direct Connect: checked

<Carrier>
Protocol : GSM-AT
Baud Rate: 115200
Parity: None
Data Bits: 8
Stop Bits: 1
Init String: auto
Max Chars: 160

The error message that I got is.

OK - Your issue is a Microsoft issue - there is a problem with the USB to COM port driver. It works with HyperTerminal because HyperTerminal doesn't use the same driver. Send me your contact details off list - we have a work around for this very thing

I have a very similar issue. Works with HyperTerminal, but not with PageGate. Seems mine doesn't return an error though. It will say sent AT, but it doesn't get a reply. Whats the workaround? I need to know ASAP please...

Direct Connect must NOT BE CHECKED

What is the result from this command through Hyperterminal: AT+CSQ

Additionally - please check your email

Check your junk/spam folder - I replied to your email at 0904 EST this morning

The CSQ command verifies signal strength - you have great signal

We just bought PageGate and this Modem. Actually, the Sherriff just got the latest upgrade for PageGate. So I don't think spending any more money is an option. We didn't know we needed a special version until after the modem arrived.

It is not that you need a "special version" - the issue you are having is directly a result of the USB to COMport driver. We have installed PageGate and Cellular modems at MANY Public Safety centers across the country - part of our process is to determine what the customer needs to accomplish before ordering hardware.
