We use Notepager Pro v3, and I have been using the TAP protocal for paging out Rogers Canada users. As of yesterday, none of my messages go through at all.

We were sent a letter about 2 years ago, warning that Rogers were going to be switching off their modem service. I presume that is what has happened. Can anyone confirm this?

I have tried using the STMP option, but it is not time sensitive, and therefore no use to our office.

I went through the connection wizard, and SNPP is not available on our connection. I do not see a Rogers option for WCTP.

Does anyone have a suggestion for an alternative service that would work for paging Rogers customers, or if there is a WCTP option that is not listed on the website?

Thank you!

The Rogers TAP host is down today, though they haven't givenan ETA on getting it fixed. Aside from TAP, the only other protocol they support is SMTP.

Permanently down, or just temporarily? We tried customer service, and they know nothing.

Temporarily as far as I've been told.

We are having the same issues again with Rogers not working.

Does anyone have contact information for someone at Rogers who handles their modems? I have tried customer service, but they have no idea.

I haven't received any messages sent to the TAP gateway after July 14th.

Although on July 16th at 02:57 I received about 15 blank messages from it, any contact info at the Rogers end would be useful.

I have had the same complaint for agents at the office. They recieve a blank message around 5 hours after it was sent.

Due to the fact that they are ending support for their publicly available TAP modems, your alternatives are sither SMTP (Email - not as reliable) or adding a cellular modem to your package and sending the messages as true MO-MT (Mobile Originated - Mobile Terminated) SMS messages.

I am aware that Rogers will be ending their publicly available TAP, but we have not had any indication of when this will be! We got notification a number of years ago, but nothing since. If anyone has information on when this will happen, it would be greatly appreciated.

I am aware of the email to text msg service. However, it costs both Fido and Rogers users $5 extra per month for these msgs to be pushed directly to their phones. Otherwise they are sent a msg telling them they have an email to text msg, and have to text back 'read' to access it. This will not work for our purposes.

Which is why I suggested the CELLULAR MODEM option. We have installed hundreds of these across the US and Canada with pageGate versions and have had excellent luck

So how much does it cost to get this cellular modem system?

And now the system appears to be back up again.

I investigated an SNPP solution and it appears that 207.245.224.113:444 was able to send messages out to Rogers phones found on this page:
