|
|
Hello.
We have a group that has some members. Some members use SNPP and some use TAP. When you send a page for this group, PageGate dials the TAP first and sends all of those messages and then hangs up and connects via the SNPP on the WAN. The problem in this case is that the TAP people on the list are lower priority than the SNPP members which need the message first. The dialing and waiting to send TAP messages eats up about 30-40 seconds before it hangs up and then utilizes the SNPP connection.
My question, is there any way to change the order of a group's members being sent the message?
Thank you,

Well, the only method I know of to dictate delivery order is to put a number in front of the recipients' names. Literally, change their names to 1Name, 2Name, 3Name, etc. |

This would change their location in the main list of recipients though and make finding them difficult for all of the users.
Ok, I just wanted to know if it could be done and I see it cannot (easily). Thank you for your assistance.

Try this as a test: Create a NEW test group
Populate the group with recipients IN THE ORDER you would like them paged
Send a test and report back_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

Not sure if this is still active, but I have worked my way around this solution myself.
Each user is entered into Pagegate under their own name. Then a set of groups are created based upon the priority of receiving the page. Juat make sure that alpha numerically, the groups fall in line (so 1...2...3 , A...B...C... and any mix). Then a parent group is created and the priority groups placed in it. See below for example.
Parent Group
.....1st Priority Group
.........Jane
.........Tom
.....2nd Priority Group
.........Dave
.........Julia
.........Sam
.....3rd Priority Group
.........Adam
.........Terry
The pages will be sent in the order above. These priority groups can be organized by any criteria you want; protocols, carriers, rank or any othe needs you specifically have.
Hope this helps
