I am no longer able to send TAP messages from PageGate 5.0. I'm able to dial out using Hyperterminal and I sent a TAP message to my pager using WhatsUp Gold. But still no luck with PageGate.

So it would appear the modem is now working fine, but PageGate still will not use it to send messages. I decided to rebuild the database, but the problem persists. Oh, I went ahead and updated the modem driver but still no luck.

Connector1 Log:
4/22/2009 9:11:06 AM Module Started
4/22/2009 9:11:09 AM Time synchronized with scheduler
4/22/2009 9:11:18 AM ========================================

4/22/2009 9:11:18 AM Connect using TAP protocol
4/22/2009 9:11:18 AM Setting communication parameters (1200,e,7,1)
4/22/2009 9:11:19 AM Attempting to reset modem
4/22/2009 9:11:20 AM Program Halted. Database error: 3219 Invalid operation. in Procedure: SendTAP
4/22/2009 9:11:21 AM Module Stopped

Can anyone point me in the right direction here?

Is the connector looking at the correct COM port? Additionally, it will be helpful to place your loging level to DEBUG and post the results

Device manager lists the modem as MultiMobile MT9234MU (COM3), and the PageGate connector is configured to use serial port 3.

The logging level is already configured for debug. I confirmed the logging level under Logging and then settings.

I also reinstalled PageGate but I'm still having the same problem.

The error you're getting is almost always a COM port issue. Either PageGate can't communicate with the device on the port or it can't lock the port for use. My first recommendation would be to look to see if you have Routing and Remote Access installed and running. If you do, go into RRA and tell it to stop monitoring the COM port and device you're wanting to use.

If you don't have RRA installed/running, check to see if you have any FAX programs on the system that are listening to the COM port.
