This module was working fine for a while, now I can't get it to work.

I'm always getting Unable to access/file direcotry and the module stops.

I've tried to delete the file from gascii directories, but it's not working.

What are you using as the path in the GetAScii Polling directory? Also, are you running PageGate as an Application or Windows Service?

the polling directory is e:\gascii\ and I'm using PageGate as a Windows Service.

Is the E: drive a local drive or a mapped network drive?

The e: drive is local to the server.

Here's my best recommendation:

1) In Windows, go to Start - Run.

2) Type the following and click on OK: services.msc

3) In the Services List, locate the PageGate GetAscii service.

4) Right click on it and tell it to Stop.

5) Browse into your e:\gascii\ directory.

6) Delete everything in the folder that isn't the sendpage.exe, sendpage32.exe, good, bad, or process folders.

7) Restart the system service.

Let's see if that stabilizes things.

Well... the error itself is self explanitory, the program can't read/modify the contents of your polling directory. The question is, what could be locking it? Do you have any other programs that would monitor that directory?

Also, just to see if it makes a difference, create a new directory called e:\temp\

Change the polling directory to the temp directory and let's see if it gives us the same error. We need to make sure you're not running into a permission issue with the drive and not just with the directory.

I've tried to create an e:\temp diretory and it worked.

I do have and FTP virtual directory running that points to the gascii folder. One of our system is sending ascii files to be sent as pager. Seams like the FTP configuration was lucking the directory.

I've deleted all the FTP configuration and redid it. Now it's working.

THanks for your help.

You may want to consider utilizing the Alerts feature, which sends alerts to your mobile device of any start/stop events, module errors, stalled modules and other events. Alerts are sent from the PageGate Monitor v5 module to a NotePager Pro software recipient's mobile device or a group.

The PageGate Monitor's NotePager Pro Alerts feature enables you way to react quickly to any issues within PageGate software.

Test by downloading a free trial of NotePager Pro software at http://www.notepage.net/software.htm

Refer to 'PageGate Monitor' - 'File' - 'Settings', and information in the server manual at http://www.notepage.net/manualchoice.htm
