I need to get the information on how to setup NotePager Pro V. 3.0 for Verizon Wireless and Contact Wireless paging. I can't seem to get it to work with any of the posts I have seen.

THanks

Mike

What protocol and settings are being used with Verizon and Contact Wireless? In NotePager Pro's menu bar select 'Carriers' - 'Edit', and in the Edit Carrier screen select the carrier.

Are you using NotePager Pro software with a high-speed internet connection or a modem?

I have tried to setup Verizon as a SMTP for vtext.com however, I believe that our DNS server is behind a firewall. We are a Municipal Government Agency and use the software for Emergency Paging.

Yes we have a high speed internet connection.

Additionally, I just can't find the info to setup Contact Wireless.

Thanks

Well... let's run a quick test:

1) In Windows, go to Start - Run.

2) In the run line, type the following and click on OK: command

3) In the command prompt that comes up, type the following and hit enter:

telnet smtp-bb.vtext.com 25

Let me know what happens when you do that.

Also, for Contact Wireless, you'll want to use:

Protocol: SNPP
Host: page.contactwireless.com
Port: 444
Max Chars: 160
There is no password.

As a municipality - I think you are probably using a relay server. Also - you may want to look at PageGate - far better suited to your needs. We have installed numerous instances of PageGate in governmental public safety agencies
