|

I had a questions from our Emergency Management people: Is there a way to automatically generate an RSS feed (with FeedForAll) from within PageGate? It would be an ideal way to reach the staff who do not carry a pager or SMS capable device.
PS - We use an open source RSS agent for Mozilla that hides when there is no source feed. It's a cheap and secure method to do alerts.

There isn't a direct translation method I can think of to go from PageGate to RSS. I wonder, though, what your RSS Feed would contain? Would you want the actual messages sent out by PageGate to be hosted as items in the feed?
The reason I ask is that you can do SQL Integration with PageGate... and we have a script that can translate SQL into RSS. So, theoretically, you could go PageGate to SQL to RSS.

Actually, the same message being sent to one of groups. What is the average cost of the script & what sql does it require?

I'm not sure about the cost, I'll have sales make a post to answer that. As for SQL, it requires at the very least SQL Server 2000.

The RSS Scripts Directory with the SQL2RSS script is $29.95. More information is at http://www.feedforall.com/sql2rss.htm
Unlike PageGate, there is unfortunately not a trial download of the scripts.
