Is there any way to warn the user when they try closing Notepager Pro and are still in the middle of sending out pages? Some of our users keep forgetting to leave it running until all of the pages are sent out.
Otherwise when they go back in and send a new page, all of the pending ones go out as well.

Currently, no, there isn't an option that will warn a user if there are pending messages when they close the program. The program, however, will finish any transactions it is in the middle processing before properly closing itself out, barring the computer being shut down or rebooted. |

Ok, sounds like a good feature request for a future version.
Is there a way maybe to minimize the application to the system tray when they try to close the program? Similar to say, ZoneAlarm, which never closes unless you right-click the system tray icon and explicitly choose the close option.
The problem we're having is because they're closing the app while in the middle of the paging, the rest of the messages never make it out. Then hours later the person re-launches Notepager and the old pages go out. Then we have people calling asking why there were sent so late.

Consider upgrading to PageGate - individual users can close PageGate client instances but the PageGate engine runs 24/7 processing messages. You will also see a significant decrease in your throughput time depending on how many optional connectors you license_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

We are using PageGate to send the pages. The reason for the Notepager to Pagegate interface (SMTP to the Pagegate server) is due to the number of paging groups that the users maintain themselves.
This particular situation requires they use Notepager to initiate the pages.

With PageGate CLIENT properly configured, you can accomplish the same thing you are looking for AND defeat the issue you're having with NPP being terminated while jobs are in process_________________ Aaron D. Osgood

It can already do that. Go to Tools - Settings - Display and you should see the option to Minimize To either the System Tray or Task Bar. |

From what I can tell, minimizing to the system tray or task bar is just that - only on a minimize. What I would have liked is if they closed the NotePager main form, that it would minimize rather than close.

I'd have to look at the PageGate client. The users have something like 150+ paging groups that frequently change. I don't want them being able to edit all the groups that currently exist on the PageGate server for things that are not theirs. Their groups are only applicable to them and to noone else in the company.

Ah... sorry about that, I didn't read all the way through. I thought you were looking for a way to minimize to the system tray, not close to the system tray. |

We have used the "Display Group" functionality of PGClient for many of our Public Safety installations. Basically, it allows a specific user to only access and message specific recipients and groups. For example: FIRE can only work with fire staff, POLICE can only work with police staff, DISPATCH can work with POLICE and FIRE, ADMIN can work with ALL recipients in database. The only limitation is the one governed by your PageGate license_________________ Aaron D. Osgood
