|
|
I am currently running PageGate version 5.0 and have had several complaints that the full page is not being recieved on the pager, I done some testing and found out that alot of my msgs are not being completely sent. In the GetAscii I have noticed the following:
#1 8/21/2008 3:40:31 PM Sender Found :RLL
#2 8/21/2008 3:40:31 PM Message Found: NEW C#:1120672 FR:22 QUEEN MARYS'S DR TO:END @ISLAND AIRPORT - PVT JET CT 416******* // *PAX RQST LIM#22 ELDIN*<13><10>
#3 8/21/2008 3:40:31 PM Message accepted: Recipient: 416******* from :RLL
#4 8/21/2008 3:40:31 PM Record Found: 416*******<13><10>416*******<13><10>300<13><10>2400,E,7,1<13><10> NT:TO: 123 COMMERCE VALLEY DR EAST (HWY7,W OF 404) -- WT-- THEN APPROX 915AM TO 22 ST CLAIR AVE EAST.......
#5 8/21/2008 3:40:31 PM Recipient Found 416*******
#6 8/21/2008 3:40:31 PM Sender Found: RLL
#7 8/21/2008 3:40:31 PM No Message Found
The first part of the message is sent to the pager on line #2 however on line #4 this does not get sent, I continued to monitor the logs, and anytime it says record found it is followed by No Message Found and not sent. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts or reasons why this maybe happening.
thanks

It could be the asterisks making my brain bend a little but I was wondering if I could get you to clarify as to what the message is supposed to say versus what's actually being sent? If you could give me a side by side comparison, that would be great.

#3 8/21/2008 3:40:31 PM Message accepted: Recipient: 416******* from :RLL just to clarify the 416******* in the actual log it shows the number I just used * for privacy.
The pager should recieve:
22 QUEEN MARYS'S DR TO:END @ISLAND AIRPORT - PVT JET CT 416******* // *PAX RQST LIM#22 ELDIN
NT:TO: 123 COMMERCE VALLEY DR EAST (HWY7,W OF 404) -- WT-- THEN APPROX 915AM TO 22 ST CLAIR AVE EAST.......
however the "NT:TO: 123 COMMERCE VALLEY DR EAST (HWY7,W OF 404) -- WT-- THEN APPROX 915AM TO 22 ST CLAIR AVE EAST....... " part of the message does not get sent.
Hope this makes sense.
thanks

There are two things I'd like you to check. Go into the settings of the carrier that your recipient(s) are tied to and let me know what the Max Chars setting is set to. Also, how many characters can the pager(s) receive at one time?

I thought that was the issue, I sent the Max Char on the pagers to be 500, but did not set it under carrier, it was at 240, I have now changed it to 400.

The Max Chars in the Carrier is the maximum number of characters that the devices can receive. The Max Chars in the Recipient is the maximum number of characters that you'd like the people to receive.
If the recipient is higher than the carrier, the program will split the message into multiple blocks. So, let's say we queue a 500 character message to a 240 character carrier. It'll split it into 3 messages - two 240 character messages and one 20 character message.
