Hello,

I apologize, there seem to be a lot of posts like this. I seem to have looked at most of them and am at a loss.

I am using NotePager Pro v3.0 and like the product.

I have had no problems getting our alpha pagers and sprint phones to work with the SNPP settings.

I seem to be having a problem with the SMTP settings. I am connected to a network and failed the SMTP test in the setup wizard. I then tried to use a relay server (smtp.comcast.net) to get around this with no success.

It would be much easier if all the carriers used SNPP settings but I guess I am not that lucky!

Any help would be great. This product will be a huge asset to us if we can get it working.

This may sound like an odd question but do you actually use Comcast as your ISP?

I don't mind odd questions.

Yes, Comcast is our ISP.

Okay, this is what you'll want to do:

Protocol: SMTP
Local Domain: comcast.net
Deliver through local email server: smtp.comcast.net

Now, under tools - settings - general, make sure that your Sender's Name is the beginning of a valid comcast email address. For example, if my email address was nobody@comcast.net, my sender's name should be: nobody

Hmm... my recommendation would be to call Comcast's tech support and ask them these questions:

1) What SMTP Server can I use?

2) Does it require authentication?

2a) If it does require authentication, what SPECIFIC username and password should I use to authenticate with?

Once you have that answered, email me at support at notepage dot com and we'll go from there.
