|

Hi, I have customers using PageGate 4.x. I would like to know if the PageGate 4.x client is supported under Windows Server 2003. Also if I upgrade the PageGate Server to 5.x, will existing 4.x PageGate Clients be able to use the new database structure or do I have to upgrade all the client installations as well?
Regards,
Rory

Yes, PageGate version 4 is supported under Server 2003. The version 4 client can't read the version 5 database format as we've changed it a bit and added a few new fields, so you'll need to upgrade all of the clients to the v5 client.

I have been successful installing PageGate 4.x client on Windows Server 2003 SP1, but have not been successful on Windows Server 2003 SP2. The install program, PGV4.exe, does not run. Sometimes it shows up in Task Manager for about a second, then dies. Is PageGate version 4 supported under Windows Server 2003 SP2?

Try using this installation file:
http://www.notepage.net/download/pgv4.0.9.exe
That's the installation for the last build of PageGate version 4. To address your question, though, yes the program should function on Server 2003 SP2.
